The Youth Enrichment Program (YEP) seeks to enhance adult-youth relationships in order to help youth develop and embrace core values, a sense of self- worth and contribution, competence, interdependency, leadership and cultural awareness.

YEP’s theme, “A Journey to the Heart of the Rock: The Leader in Me” emphasizes nine core values: achievement, critical thinking, endurance, love, obedience, respect, self-knowledge, task completion and truth.  Each child is considered a “rock”–strong, resilient and a meaningful and valuable member of society with a positive contribution to make.

Love is identified as the center of the rock and is foundational to relationship-building between YEP, the children and their families.

YEP Saturday Program on ZOOM
Spring Session 2021

YEP zoomed into its spring session of the Saturday Program on April 17 and held four gatherings through May 8. Each Saturday, we focused on the rock trait of love, along with two of the other eight, such as respect and truth. The rock traits were presented as guides to help YEP participants develop healthy and resilient attitudes about life situations, especially given this past year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
